Reverend Susan Morris serves as the Chaplain for Hospice of Southwest Virginia. She received a Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Family Relations at Western Carolina University. She has also received her Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and her Master of Science in Patient Counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed four units in clinical pastoral education and will be applying for board certification in 2012.
Rev. Morris has served as an Associate Pastor, Hospital Chaplain, Youth Minister, and Children’s Minister. Rev. Morris currently serves on the Palliative Care Committee, Ethics Committee, and Cancer Care Committee for Wytheville County Community Hospital. She leads bereavement support groups and helps with Camp Wishing Well, a bereavement group for children. She also serves on the Virginia Baptist Women in Ministry Steering Committee, and the Virginia Association for Hospice and Palliative Education Committee.
Rev. Morris is an ordained minister with the Alliance of Baptists. She loves the Arts and has performed on several drama teams. She enjoys traveling. She has four handsome nephews and two beautiful nieces, whom she adores.
