Rev. Meg Lacy

Associate Pastor

Rev. Meg Lacy become the Associate Pastor at Tabernacle Baptist Church (Richmond, VA) in January 2018. She was drawn to Tabernacle for the congregation’s creativity and its electric urban location. She is a native of Nashville, TN, and a graduate of Samford University (BA) and the Candler School of Theology at Emory University (M.Div). Meg has served at churches across the southeast and is passionate about creating spaces for people to connect more deeply with God, their neighbors, and the inner voice of their soul. When Meg’s not working, you can find her practicing or teaching yoga, reading at a coffee shop, or spending time outdoors with her rambunctious labradoodle, Olive.

Rev. Jacque B. Green

Chaplain Resident

Rev. Jacque B. Green is currently a Chaplain Resident at VCU Hospital. In 2019, she will graduate from both the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University, earning a dual master’s degree in divinity and patient counseling. Jacque also earned a BS in Religion with a concentration in Christian Ministries from Liberty University in 2015. Jacque received her early ministry training at Saint Paul’s Baptist Church under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Lance D. Watson. She was ordained at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Richmond’s Historic Fan District, where she served as the pastoral intern during the 2017-18 academic year. Additionally, she was a 2017-18 Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Leadership Scholar and nominated for the 2018 Addie Davis Award for Outstanding Leadership in Pastoral Ministry. Jacque felt called to join the work of Christ at Tabernacle and now serves as deacon. Jacque has been married to her husband, Ramone, for over 20 years. Together they have five adult children and two amazing granddaughters.

Rev. Dr. Jenny Call

University Chaplain

Rev. Dr. Jenny Frazier Call has served as University Chaplain at Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia since fall 2011. A graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary (D.Min), Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (M.Div), and the College of William and Mary (B.S.), Jenny is passionate about supporting people through their journey to holistic well-being using spirituality as a resource for resiliency, connection, and healing. In her work as Chaplain, Jenny offers pastoral care and engages her community in the discipline of “finding sanctuary”: seeking Sabbath rest, experiencing spiritual renewal, and living faithfully in connection and service with God and community. Her interfaith ministry extends to people of all faith traditions and she particularly enjoys serving those who are not religiously affiliated. She has contributed to two books: A Divine Duet: Ministry and Motherhood and The Modern Magnificat: Women Responding to the Call of God. She is married to John Call, and they have two kids; Brady and Maryn.

Rev. Kyle Matthews

Singer-Songwriter, Teacher

Rev. Kyle Matthews is the creative artist behind See for Yourself Music and an ordained minister serving a local congregation. He spent two decades working as a recording artist and staff songwriter for BMG and Universal Publishing companies in Nashville, TN, during which time his songs were recorded by over 70 major artists of different genres and won the Dove, Stellar, GMA and numerous ASCAP and BMI awards. His song “We Fall Down,” recorded most notably on a multi-platinum release by Donnie McClurkin, won numerous music industry awards. He is a 2004 alumnus of Leadership Music (Nashville) and a 2013 graduate of the Diversity Leadership Initiative at Furman University’s Riley Institute. Kyle is married to Susan and they have two children. In April of 2006, his Alma Mater, Furman University, awarded him the Richard Furman Baptist Heritage Award recognizing “a graduate who reflects Baptist ideals by thinking critically, living compassionately, and making life-changing commitments.”
